NOTE FROM RANDY:
Next Tuesday would have been Ogden Nash’s
105th birthday. But there’s a new
*military* version of him on the scene,
writing punny verses. We have proof.

The Top 9 Ogden N*A*S*H Poems
(Part I)

9> Boeing still hankers
To build those tankers.

8> Mussolini
(Old Benito)
Had his hang-ups;
Now finito.

7> A soldier in the motorpool
Helps Sarge with wrench and dipstick;
But don’t ask, if he’s out at night
In earrings wearing lipstick.

6> General Jackson
(Known as “Stonewall”):
Felled by friendly
Minie-ball.

5> Billy Mitchell’s “Air power!”
Was definitely partial.
He had his pilots bomb a ship,
Which brought his famed court-martial.

4> Clean up insurgents
With 30mm detergents.

3> Camouflage (when done just right)
Is really very swell.
But if you’re lost, it tends to make
Your way back home pure hell.

2> George McClellan
Came out smellin’.

and the Number 1 Ogden N*A*S*H Poem…

1> The B-2 bomber,
It’s a stealth.
You can’t ask;
We can’t tellth.
