NOTE FROM DAVE:
“I’ll wrap these punks up — you go after Mr. Big.”
This is a good thing to hear in combat.
You want to hear your partner say things like
“I’ve got your back covered.” On the other hand…
Top 7 Things You Don’t Want to Hear from your Partner in Battle
7> “Just in case we don’t make it out of this, I think you
should know — I’ve been nailing your wife.”
6> “As your youthful ward, I inherit everything if you croak,
right?”
5> “Do you ever get that “not so heroic” feeling?”
4> “You know, I’m really getting to dig the feel of these
tights.”
3> “I’ve really been seriously rethinking this whole vigilante
thing.”
2> “Great bluff!!! He has no idea you’re powerless against his
new weapon… uh… er… oops..”
and the Number 1 Thing You Don’t Want
to Hear from your Partner in Battle…
1> “Holy soiled bat-tights!”

TOPFIVE.COM’S LITTLE FIVERS — COMICS

NOTE FROM DAVE:
“John Carpenter’s Snake Plissken Chronicles” will
premiere in the spring of 2003. That’s right, a
new comic book series based on the continuing
adventures of anti-hero Snake Plissken as made
famous by Kurt Russell. Based on “Escape From LA,”
I wouldn’t think Snake had any good script ideas
left for him. Perhaps we can help…

The Top 9 Storylines We’d
Offer for the Snake Plissken Comic

9> Snake gets medieval on John Carpenter’s ass for putting him in a crossover with the Powerpuff Girls instead of those Gen13 babes.

8> Escape from LAX: Snake tries to find his luggage.

7> Plot? Plot!? This is *Snake Plissken*, for God’s sake!

6> Make another large-sized city in a wasteland of gutterpunks and bikers. We nominate Sturgis!

5> Snake Plissken: Secret Origins — featuring the childhood Snake story “Careful! You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out.”

4> Team up with trucker Jack Burton and cop Gabriel Cash to travel 3000 Miles to Graceland and rescue Kurt Russell’s career.

3> Who cares? Conflicts between writer, editor, and artist will cause lateness, causing lost sales, causing cancellation. Then the only way you’ll ever find out how the story was to end will be to go to a convention and listen to the writer whine about how it would have been the greatest story ever told in comics if only they had listened to *him*.

2> Start him off easy with a sure-to-please mission: Hunt down and eliminate Captain Ron!

and the Number 1 Storyline We’d Offer for the Snake Plissken
Comic…

1> “Escape From Big Trouble In Little China” — Might as well take some pointers from a better Kurt Russell film.
